Working with problem horses

Hekla already told us a few interesting stories of her life with horses. She was always especially interested in horses that were difficult to handle and the associated question:

How did this horse develop into a problem horse and more importantly:

How can this be changed?

One requirement is particularly necessary: A lot of patience!

Hekla shows us how a change can succeed, examplified by one of her protégés. She tells us the story the story of Afi in a very special way:  With a video!

In advance, here are some information, thereafter, enjoy watching the video!

Afi frá Bár was brought to Hekla by a friend in 2014 shortly after she became self-employed as a rider. The short gelding seemed to want to balance out his 1.28 m of hight with an extremely pronounced ego. At least, he let almost no one near him and hunched off any rider. Hekla found out that he was broken in with only 3.5 years and probably experienced not the softest training. Afi’s owner made no progress with this horse.

When he came to Hekla, he was just scared in his box.

See for yourself how Afi developed with Hekla!

Here you can find Afis story in Icelandic!
