14. DEZEMBER Stúfur – The Tot

Stúfur is the smallest of the 13 Santa Clauses and at the same time the happiest. The long journey from the mountains down to the valley is not easy for him, as he only makes slow progress on his short legs. The snow often reaches his waist and he has to fight his way through bad snow drifts.

However, he is lucky this year as he meets the friendly gelding Glaður on the way and the two continue their journey to the lowlands together. Glaður means the lucky one or the happy one. He is the perfect companion for Stúfur and the two have a lot of fun together.

Since Stúfur has no particular fondness for certain foods, but likes to laugh for his life, he sneaks into the houses and confuses the shoes which are neatly placed on a mat by tying the shoe straps together. When the house dwellers find the chaos in the corridor in the morning and confusedly try to sort their shoes, he has a lot of fun.

A PIECE OF ADVICE

Those who want to distract Stúfur from the wardrobe put their shoes on the windowsill, because when he finds a shoe in the window, he always puts something in it.
